Signature corporate branding on product

02/03/2009 : Unilever UK & Ireland will put ‘signature’ corporate branding on its product brand advertising

From early March, Unilever UK & Ireland will put ‘signature’ corporate branding on its product brand advertising – including TV, posters and press. The first brand to carry Unilever signature branding will be Flora.Other brands will follow from April across our portfolio – including Persil, PG Tips, Magnum, Sure, and Dove.

This move is an extension of what we already do in many parts of the world – from Asia to Latin America.

Our research shows that consumers in the UK & Ireland have relatively low awareness and knowledge of our company, compared to some of our competitors. They are open to the idea of us promoting Unilever more overtly and see this as a sign of honesty and transparency.

When we tell people of the full range of leading brands we make they are surprised and impressed and react very positively. We believe, over time, this will help to improve consumer perception of trust in our impressive portfolio of everyday brands.

Our research tells us that people who already buy one Unilever brand will buy others too if they know they come from the same maker – Unilever – which makes good business sense for us.
