Supply Chain Management

We manage every stage of our supply process, starting with sourcing raw materials and ending with timely delivery. It’s down to us to make sure our products are available on the shelves at the highest quality, when consumers want them and at a good price.

What will I be doing?

In practice this could mean finding a new way to get 12,000 litres of ice cream across the desert without it melting, or transforming the way the world’s largest spreads factory operates, or designing a more efficient distribution network to enable us to store and deliver our products sustainably to our customers.

What do we look for?

Whichever department you join – Planning, Customer Service, Manufacturing or Distribution – you’ll need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, be a proven team player and have the ability to think both quickly and strategically in order to make the best decisions to influence our future supply chain. Whilst we are open to applications from all degrees, typically (but not exclusively) a background in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Science, Maths Finance or Business Administration can be an advantage.

What will the programme involve?

Over two years you’ll cover four placements, each lasting six months. We’ll make sure you gain experience in all of our key areas:

  • The Planning team (either based in head office, or a sourcing unit, or the European Supply Chain Company)

  • A customer service role in head office working directly with our external customers

  • A supervisory placement (leading a production team in one of our sourcing units)

  • A project role which will see you take on a variety of challenges

You’ll also have the opportunity to work internationally. During the programme, full support will be provided for those who wish to become Chartered Engineers with their preferred Engineering Institute. All trainees will also be able to study for and gain externally recognised qualifications in Planning and Customer Service through APICS and ICS respectively. You will also receive specific training in Supply Chain Leadership, IOSH Health & Safety Management and first line management.
